Sarika and Kamal Hassan were blessed with this angel on the 28th of January in the year 1986 when they were living in Chennai, (in Tamil Nadu, India). born to parents who are multi talented, it doesn’t surprise me at all that shruti is good at everything that she sets her mind to do….be that modeling, be it acting, be it as a singer or a music composer….this young lady has done it all! Another beautiful person in shruti’s life is Akshara, shruti’s sister who represents the country (India) nationally for what is known as Ballroom Latin dancing! In the year 2000, shruti’s parents took a call to separate and go their own way.
Shruti attended school in a place called Lady Andal, in Chennai and thereafter she decided to move to Mumbai with the intention of studying Psychology (which she planned to do from St Andrews College). it seems like shruti is as versatile as it can get….she had bigger dreams and aspirations and decided to move to California so that she could involve herself in studying music from the Musicians Institute. Shruti Haasan is an Tamil actress, singer and music composer who has worked in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil films. Her parents are noted actors, Kamal Haasan and Sarika.
Hassan shifted her focus to cinema and music, and eventually travelled to the USA to continue to learn music at the Musicians Institute in California, before returning to Chennai. She has also had rhinoplasty to alter the appearance of her nose early in her film career.


Shruti Haasan is an Indian actress, singer and music composer who has worked in Telugu, Tamil,and Hindi films. Her parents are noted actors, Kamal  Haasan and Sarika. As a child artiste, she sang in films and appeared in a guest role, before making her adult acting debut in the 2009 action drama, Luck. She later went on to win critical acclaim for her role in the Walt Disney fantasy film, Anaganaga O Dheerudu, Oh My Friend and 7aam Arivu alongside Suriya & Gabbar singh
She has also continued her stint in music through work as a singer in Indian languages, a career in music direction beginning with her father’s production Unnaipol Oruvan and her own music band and album.
Shruti Haasan sang her first song aged just six in her father’s Thevar Magan in the composition of Ilaiyaraaja. While in school, Haasan made her singing debut in the Hindi language film, Chachi 420, singing a duet with her father who also directed the film. Shruti sang the bilingual versions of the title theme, Rama Rama with her father, in Hindi and in Tamil for the movie Hey Ram. The album from Ilayaraaja, which was critically praised, won Haasan accolades for her efforts with Screen India saying that she “has the makings of a good singer, and with some training she should go great guns”.
Shruti sang along with veteran singer K. J. Yesudas for the film En Mana Vaanil (2002) under Ilaiyaraaja’s music. She has sung for Gautham Menon’s Vaaranam Aayiram under the composition of Harris Jayaraj. As of November 2008, Haasan is also midway through her untitled debut album, which she has composed, written and sung, and is set for release in mid-2009. A further song was recorded with her voice for her Hindi film, Luck.
In September 2010, Haasan collaborated with Dave Kushner for the film, Hisss.Whilst Kushner composed the track, Shruti wrote the lyrics, sang and appeared in a promotional video for the film.

After pursuing a career in singing, Haasan also entered into modelling. She appeared in the Frappe! magazine of September 2007 and in Verve.
In 2000, Haasan made a cameo appearance as the daughter of Vallabhbhai Patel in the biopic of Mahatma Gandhi, in the Tamil-Hindi bilingual Hey Ram, directed by her father Kamal Haasan. After rejecting prominent film offers, most notably the lead role in Venkat Prabhu’s Saroja, reports suggested in late 2007 that Haasan was set to make her full debut as a heroine in 2008 with a movie opposite Madhavan directed by Nishikanth Kamat. Despite Madhavan admitting that the news “was premature”,[14] she signed up to the film, which was titled, Endrendrum Punnagai, only to be stalled prior to production.[16] Eventually Haasan signed up to Soham Shah’s Luck opposite Imran Khan, a Bollywood film. However, despite the film gathering much publicity prior to release, it became a critical and commercial flop. She made her Telugu debut in January 2011, acting opposite Siddharth in the fantasy adventure film Anaganaga O Dheerudu directed by Prakash Kovelamudi son of director K. Raghavendra Rao. The film, co-produced by Walt Disney Pictures, proved commercially unsuccessful as well. In mid 2010, Shruti was signed by A. R. Murugadoss to star opposite Surya Sivakumar in his next film 7aam Arivu, and the film’s shoot began in June later that year. Shruti played Subha Srinivasan, a young scientist in the film, who hopes to re-activate the genes of 5th century Buddhist monk Bodhidharma and her performance in the film won appreciation from critics. The film opened to mixed reviews, but became commercially successful.

Career Path….
Shruti’s was only six when she recorded a song for the first time for Thevar Magan (for her gather) and it was an Ilaiyaraaja composition. Next came her debut singing for a Hindi movie titled Chachi 420 and this happened to be a duet, where her father joined in. the film ‘Hey Ram’ saw Shruti sang various versions (title theme)- in Tamil and Hindi and the song was titled ‘Rama Rama’….once again it was sung along with Shruti’s father. It turns out that the Ilayaraaja album received critical praise and also won shruti accolades!
K. J. Yesudas (a veteran singer) joined Shruti for a film titled En Mana Vaanil (in the year 2002) which was for Ilaiyaraaja’s music. Acting…
Shruti is very versatile…she is not only interested in composing music, singing and acting, but she has also tried her hand at modeling. In September 2007, shruti featured in Frappe! Magazine as well as Verve.
Shruti’s debut in Bollywood came with a film titled Luck where she was paired opposite /Imran Khan and which was a Soham Shah film. This film gathered quite a lot of publicity before its release, but failed to be so promising at the box office. Shruti debuted in Telugu films in the year 2011 (January), where she was cast opposite Siddharth and the film was titled Anaganaga O Dheerudu, which is a Prakash Kovelamudi’s direction. This movie was a Walt Disney Pictures co-production, yet it turned out to be unsuccessful commercially.
Shruti Hassan has also done a voice over for a HIV/AIDS teaching animated software tutorial that has been created by TeachAIDS (a non-profit organization).
In The Field Of Composing Music….
Shruti finalized a deal to be the music composer for a Tamil movie titled Unnaipol Oruvan that released sometime in the year 2009. Next came a bilingual, which was the remake of a successful Hindi movie, A Wednesday! However, the soundtracks for these two projects are totally separate. Not just this, this young lady also happens to be the vocalist in a alternative rock band called The Extramentals.

Before this, it is said that she was dating Abhishek Kapoor (the director of the Bollywood film Rock On!). Before being involved with Shruti Hassan, Siddharth was in a serious relationship with Soha Ali Khan (a bollywood actress) and the two were committed to each other….he’s also been through a divorce and it’s said that shruti and Siddharth struck a bond while they were working on a project (a Telegu movie titled Yodha).
